Brooke and I both grew up in small towns in Northeast Nebraska. We were married in July of 2019 and added our first son, Bowen, to our family in December 2020.
We are passionate about all things outdoors. One of our favorite things to do is traveling the country together in our converted Ford camper van.

A Little History on the Cabin...
Brooke & I (Brenton) bought this place back in 2018. It was in really rough shape at that time but I loved the secluded location and I could see some potential in it. No neighbors, no HOA, no rules... a tucked in acreage close to town abundant with wildlife that butts up next to the public land of the lake. The overhaul process began shortly after. I spent the next year stripping the place down and renovating as much as possible mostly at night after work and on the weekends. I gutted the entire house and put in all new flooring, all new paint, all new bathrooms, new roof, new paint on the outside, new skirting and insulation, new fixtures, fans, outlets....just about everything was updated or replaced.
In 2018, we had to cut down some massive pine trees from my childhood home due to beetle kill and I decided to salvage the logs. After they dried for a year I peeled them all by hand with one of my grandpa's old draw knives. After sanding and sealing them I used those logs and some reclaimed cedar beams to make a 14 ft x 40 ft back covered patio. I added a built-in grilling area along with several concrete bar tops.
In 2020, a buddy and I tore down a couple 18ft grain bins off of a farm near Auburn, NE. He took one to his farm and I added the other as a 'binzebo' to the backyard at Pawnee. I also added two large areas with AstroTurf for outdoor games and full outdoor lighting. I added concrete slabs, regraded the lawn, removed old fence, added 30 & 50 amp camper plugs to the shop and also trenched in water hookups to shop.
What started as a wild idea turned into a massive project. It's been a ton of work but also very rewarding to see something you built with your own hands come together. If you are looking for something fancy, this isn't your place. If you want a place full of character; that's very clean, secluded and fun, then this is the spot. It's a perfect get-together spot for families, friends, large groups or small, bachelor parties, reunions, etc. We hope you and your group enjoy the property as much as we do.
